This morning 30 of our Year 4 pupils went to the Eastbourne Sports Complex to take part in the Quad Kids games. There were four different events to take part in throughout the morning. We started with a standing jump, all the children jumped twice and their longest jump was recorded. Then we moved onto a 400m run around the track, it was rather hot but despite the heat everyone did brilliantly. The throwing event came next with three throws of the howler and some amazing distances were thrown. Finally, we finished on a 50m sprint. All of the children performed brilliantly and displayed fantastic sportsmanship throughout the morning. Great work everyone!

19.10.17 - Darlington Primary Schools Cross Country Competition
What a Team!
All Abbey’s children competing in the Darlington Primary Schools Country Competition used skills and tactics taught in their training sessions to compete against approximately 80 children from other schools. One member of our team even lost her shoe but was so determined to finish the race she didn’t stop to pick it up! All our children earned points towards the Abbey’s total so an overall winner could be found, and some even won medals as they came in the first three to finish.
Due to their performance at this event, fourteen children from Abbey Federation have been selected to represent Darlington in the Tees Valley Cross Country Competition at Stewarts Park in March 2018
